The Department of Psychology and the newly-formed Azrieli Israel Center for Addiction and Mental Health (ICAMH) at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel, invite applications for a (non-tenure-track) position as a Senior Research Scientist in Computational Psychology. We welcome applications from candidates who have expertise and experience with state-of-the-art computational tools that can be applied in psychological research.
The successful applicant will lead the establishment of a new Research Support Unit for Computational Studies of Mind and Behavior, within the Center for Addiction and Mental Health and with close collaboration with the Department of Psychology. As head of the Research Support Unit, the successful applicant will collaborate with different members of the department and the center on projects requiring the use of advanced computational and statistical tools. They will also develop and offer training opportunities for faculty and students on advanced computational approaches in psychological sciences. In addition, they will have the opportunity to lead their own research projects with large-scale data to be collected at the Center for Addiction and Mental Health.
Requirements:
We expect the position to begin during the 2024-2025 academic year (the exact starting date is flexible and open to negotiation). Opening the position is subject to budgetary considerations. The successful applicant will be employed through the Center for Addiction and Mental Health. Note that we view this position as a long-term one: We will therefore prioritize candidates who are interested in maintaining a Senior Research Scientist position for multiple years. The successful applicant will be hired for a fixed term of 3 years initially, which can be further extended pending satisfactory performance and budgetary considerations.
Applicants who can commit for a full-time (100% effort) position will be prioritized. However, we are open to considering applicants who can only commit to a part-time position. Please provide your preferred hiring scheme (full vs. part-time) in your cover letter.
